"Tzemach Tzedek instructed to drown Chapers"

Aral Segel in his weekly column in the Israeli Newspaper Ma'ariv, relays an interesting tale about the Tzemach Tzedek and the "Chapers" (Kidnappers who would capture Jewish children to serve in the Czar's army, known as Kantonistim). According to Segal, the Tzemach Tzedek instructed members of his clandestine group "Chevre Techias Hameisim" to drown the "Chapers" while they immerse in the Mikvah, citing the Din of 'Rodef'. Update On Harav Mordechai Eliyahu

Rabby Shmuel Eliyahu Shlita, the chief rabbi of Tzfas and a son of Rishon L’Tzion Rabbi Mordechai [Tzemach ben Mazel] Eliyahu stated his father is truly in need of a refuah, calling for continued tefillos from Am Yisrael. Rav Shmuel Eliyahu stated we “do not rely on miracles” and the entire family have met with many Rabbonim, and tefillos are being recited at kivrei tzaddikim and in yeshivos around the country. Rabbi Shmuel is in constant touch with his father’s physicians.

Court Refuses to Halt Execution

The Florida Supreme Court has refused to halt next weeks scheduled execution of 45-year-old Martin (Michoel Yechiel) Edward Grossman, a Jewish inmate, convicted of murdering a Pinellas County wildlife officer in 1984. According to a report by the Associated Press, the justices Monday rejected claims from Grossman that he wasn’t given a fair chance to prove his trial lawyer had been ineffective nor allowed to present certain mitigating evidence against a death sentence.

To mark the 122nd Yartzeit of Rebetzin Menucha Rochal on Chof Daled Shvat, hundreds of people ascended to her Kever situated in Chevron, where they Davened Mincha and said Tehilim for the situation in Eretz Yisroel. Four Bris Milahs and Three Pidyonei Haben

The city of Kostenay has seen a resurgence of Jewish life with some very special events. After years of spiritual silence, the city of Kostenay in Kazakhstan is witnessing the reemergence of its Jewish community since the arrival of shluchim Rabbi Levi and Chana Cohen. The Cohens are working from the beautiful new shul building that was dedicated in the city six months ago and was built through the generosity of Alexander Mashkevitz.

Muslim Hackers Strike, Again

For the second time in recent weeks, muslim hackers, mostly from Turkey, have been breaking into Jewish and Israeli websites recently, posting inciteful pictures and anti-Semitic slogans. Unfortunately, their activities are spreading, and this morning, Sunday, their poison reached the Chabad sites that are part of the “Chabad She’al Attar” network. This particular Chabad network runs websites for hundreds of Chabad Houses in Israel and around the word. This time, the hackers managed to infiltrate the sites of around 20 Chabad Houses in Israel.
