Yad L’Achim to Continue Undeterred
In an interview with the Chareidim website Rabbi Shalom Ber Lifschitz of Yad Lachim stated that his organization is continuing to save young Jews from Arab and missionary threats. “The Arabs think this country is theirs,” he said. “But the activists are not afraid. Our activities will continue.” Rabbi Lifschitz was speaking in the wake of the recent murder of Rafael (Refoel) Miriashvilli HY"D, a Yad L’Achim activist.

Sadly, many Jewish girls, often from troubled backgrounds, have ended up either marrying or going to live with Arab men either in Arab towns inside the Green Line or in the Palestinian Authority. They are often enticed by promises of a better life. But their dreams usually turn sour and they are abused by their husbands and their families. Eventually, it is Yad L’Achim who gets them out of their terrible situation and helps them begin new lives.
Unfortunately, in many cases the police arrest the Yad L’Achim workers who rescued these women and their children, and this often reveals their identity to the Arab husbands and their families. They often go on to seek revenge for the “abduction of their wife and children.”
But the Peylim are not afraid. “What’s most important to us is to rescue hundreds of girls from threats and violence,” says Rabbi Lifschitz.
Rabbi Lifschitz also warns Jewish families to stop hiring Arabs to do work for them and to avoid renting apartments to Arab families. This prevents Arab men from having the opportunity to meet vulnerable Jewish girls.
