In Russia’s northern capital, the community celebrated the dedication of a new Torah scroll at the Beit Menachem synagogue. Beit Menachem is located in the “Maor” Jewish Community Center in the city’s Vyborgsky district. Many community members, lay leaders, Chabad-Lubavitch emissaries, and numerous high profile guests participated in the celebration. Also in attendance was renowned philanthropist Lev Leviev, President of the Federation of Jewish Communities of the CIS and head of the Ohr Avner Foundation.
