In the handouts Chamish circulated, the audience was able to see for themselves a copy of the Shamgar Commission (official government investigation report) stating that the Rabin murder took place at 9:50. Also in the handout was a copy of the arrest warrant for Yigal Amir with the time of arrest recorded at 9:30. To back up the time of arrest, the handout included the famous picture of the Amir arrest with the watch of a policeman clearly in view. The watch read 9:31. This means, as Chamish said, if both times were accurate, Amir would have been arrested 20 minutes prior to the shooting.

Rabin was in fact shot at 9:30, but the hospital located a two minute drive from the site of the assassination recorded Rabin’s arrive as 9:52. In order to make the arrival time to the hospital believable, without arousing questions as to why it took twenty minutes for a two minute drive, the investigative judges, without any source documents to back them up, established the time of the murder at 9:50

Chamish is best known for his relentless attempt to bring the real murderers of Yitzchok Rabin to justice through public opinion. When only one man knows all the evidence pointing to an inside job, there insiders are safe. As more people become aware of the corruption, the more pressure to get to the truth and strip the real perpetrators of power.

“It was a very well educated crowd,” said Chamish at the end of the evening. “The questions were very enlightening, especially from the women’s side. The audience was exceptional, I really enjoyed them.”

The evening was hosted by truepeace.org. Co-founder and Executive Director of truepeace.org, Rabbi Mayer Schmukler, opened the evening by telling of his recent experiences in Hevron where he spent Simchas Torah. He also told a story about the late Gershon Jacobson, editor of the Algemeiner Journal. Jacobson asked the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s advice concerning an upcoming press conference with then President Nixon. The Rebbe advised Jacobson to give the President an English copy of the first Rashi of the Chumash.

Based on this story and the numerous times the Rebbe spoke about the first Rashi, Schmukler suggested that everyone present do their best to increase knowledge of this Rashi by sharing it with others. Perhaps make a copy of the English translation, as the Rebbe instructed Gershon Jacobson. If it good enough for the President, why not? In this way public opinion will be swayed and both from a spiritual perspective and material one, it will have an effect on the politics in the land of Israel where many people are not aware of their deep connection to their homeland.

Lenny Lubitz, American representative of the Herut Pary, then got up and told of his experiences in Beirut during the summer of 2006. He said the bombs from Eretz Yisroel were falling again and again on the same vacant parking lots, making holes that looked like they would soon reach China.

Rabbi Tzvi Bogamilsky then spoke about his experiences in Neve Dekalim at the time of the Disengagement. He was involved in organizing and actually coming to Gush Katif and running a Chabad Yeshiva.

In Neve Dekalim Bogamilsky observed the attitude that Jews do not fight. He witnessed what seemed to be a Judenrat say to the people, even a few days before it happened, that the Disengagement would not happen. And that if it did happen, the greatest Mesirus Nefesh would be to go peacefully.

In contrast to this view, Bogomilsky repeated the section in Shulchan Orach, which the Rebbe spoke about commanding us to make a pre-emptive strike. This section is validated throughout Jewish history. Coming out of Egypt, Moshe Rabbeinu raised his hands and the battle was won. Raising his hands represents the G-dly force that brings victory, but still the battle was fought. Move on to the conquering of Eretz Yisroel, again the wars were fought. Purim, there was war and the same with Chanukah..

Then Bogamilsky introduced the main speaker. Barry Chamish is originally from Canada. His upbringing was not Shomer Shabbos, but it was full of Jewish identity, Ahavas Yisroel, and a love for Eretz Yisroel. He left his native country and moved to Eretz Yisroel to serve in the IDF. He felt it was his responsibility. He was not comfortable having other young men defending his land, unless he was doing his part.

In Eretz Yisroel he married and began raising a family. To his disillusionment, he kept encountering corrupt and fraudulent behavior. It bothered him. He wanted things in the Holy Land to be Holy, to be righteous and to be just.

This desire to live safely in Eretz Yisroel – to rid the land of rampant corruption - is the passion that has led Chamish to be the leader in pursuing the truth underlying political sting operations, that benefit a few and are destroying the country. By doing so he has exposed himself to all forms of rejection, marginalization and humiliation. Despite all this, his research is slowly reaching the masses. After the second attempt on his life, and it was a close call, he has returned to America where he continues his efforts to save the Jews in Eretz Yisroel.  One of his ten books is called Save Israel.

Each year a number of surveys in Eretz Yisroel indicate that an increasing percentage, now reaching more than half the population, no longer trust the government version of the Rabin assassination. Although the media often credits others who have more recently taken up the cause, if one person stands out as being responsible for this increased awareness, it is Barry Chamish.

The Rabin Assassination and the Goldstein ‘Massacre’ are two events highly responsible for initiating and confirming the wide spread attitude that settlers are illegal squatters and are a hindrance to the peace process. This demonization of settlers is an integral part of the establishment of a terrorist state in the heartland of Eretz Yisroel. Passion to get rid of settlers distracts the public from impending dangers.

Uncovering the cover-up stories around these events will uncover corruption in powerful circles in Eretz Yisroel. If public opinion could be awakened, these corrupt circles could brought to stand trial and face justice, and the ‘corruption process’ supporting the Peace Process would be aborted. 

Chamish’s presentation in Crown Heights focused mainly on the Rabin murder. (Time did not allow him to discuss his findings about the Goldstein alleged Massacre. He does discuss it in his books.) Chamish’s evidence against the official version of the murder would have taken hours to review completely, including an analysis of film footage of the actual murder. On Motzei Shabbos he shortened his presentation to an hour and a half. He also touched on other topics, including the role of the Yesha Council in the Gush Katif tragedy, before opening the forum to questions.

On their way out individuals expressed their reactions to Chamish’s presentation:

Miriam: He was excellent.

Reuven: He makes you realize you have to be careful about everything. He tells the truth and exposes corruption.

Sara: There is good and there is evil. There is a Posuk that says: truth will sprout from the earth. Truth seeks exposure. We really have to show Chamish appreciation for his personal sacrifice to alert Jews to danger – even if there is UFO thrown in – what can you do?

Bluma: This evening was an eye-opener and very frightening. We have to decide what role the religious people have to play.

Moshe: There is a lot of corruption. I did not believe everything he said 100%, but he definitely has a good case.

Chaim: I have been reading Chamish’s books and was happy to have an opportunity to hear him in person. I think most people want to close their eyes to the truth.

Yisroel: Chamish gave a very convincing argument that the government and the media lied about what happened to Yitzchok Rabin. And he also exposed the present leadership for not protecting the citizens properly. Jews are in great danger. Chamish sited examples of when the government has failed to protect the home front, as Lenny Lubitz confirmed, and they have not protected our soldiers.
